Beijing International Interactive Arts Festival 2010 brought together
performers, artists and audiences from around China and the world for
a week of exploration and laughter that aims at the question: “What
happens when the audience helps create the art?”
During the mornings and afternoons of the festival, workshops in
theater, music and dance, explored this fundamental question. In the evenings, improvised theater, music and dance shows light up the theater – often using the
art pieces created during the day to innovative and often hilarious
results.
Groups who took part in the festival included, Beijing
Dance/LDTX (China’s premiere and largest modern dance company),
Beijing Swing (Beijing’s largest swing group), FuTe (a nationally
recognized improvisation musician), BrandNu fashion, Beijing Improv, BIG, Impro
Pekin, Cheeky Monkey and People’s Republic of Improv among many others.
